How to Make your Car and your Trip Safe
1. Check the tires.
When checking your car, start with the tires. Is the pressure sufficient enough? Countless of road accidents and delays are caused by faulty tires. Don't be stuck up on the shoulders of the road just because your tires burst.
2. Check the brakes.
If there's one dangerous mistake car owners can do, that's driving the car without knowing that the brakes doesn't work. Always step on the break after leaving the garage. This way, you'll confidently know that the brakes are working. You also have to check the brake fluid and see if it is good.
3. Take the car for preventive maintenance.
If you are planning to take your car on a long trip, it is best that you take it to the repair shop a few days before the trip. This way, the mechanic can check all possible problems and fix it in time for your trip. This should be a common practice of every car owner, especially for those who knew nothing about repairing cars.
4. Double check your car's safety system.
While you can't check the air bags, you can certain inspect all the seat belts and see if everything works as expected. Replace broken ones accordingly. If you're using car seats for children, it is your duty to make sure that it is in its best working condition.
5. Follow traffic laws.
The safety of the driver and his passengers depends on his own attitude on the road. If you're driving, it is your responsibility to decide correctly when faced in certain situations. The traffic rules are placed there to guide drivers and achieve harmony on the road. Be a defensive driver. Don't be too aggressive when driving. Don't take chances either. Be on the safe side at all times.
6. If you have anything in your cara road vehicle, usually with four wheels and powered by an internal-combustion engine, designed to carry a small number of passengers replaced or fixed, triple check if it is done right.
You should not put your family in peril by relying too much on a mechanic's work. It always pays to double check somebody else's job on your vehicle. If you can afford to pay another expert to inspect the job done on your car, do that. This way, you can be sure that you are not sacrificing anything in terms of safety.
7. Don't drivecontrol movement of vehicle; travel or convey in vehicle; ride taken in vehicle if you're not up to it.
If you feel sick or are uncomfortable driving, don't push it. Driving under these conditions is as dangerous as driving under the influence of alcohol. Even if you think you can go your destination safely, you must think about your safety and the safety of your passengers at all times.
