Monsoon Driving Tips

It"s Monsoon, a time to enjoy in the rains. Most of the population in India love rains but when it comes to driving in that season, they become frightened. In cities like Mumbai and Delhi where rains come as nature"s anger, it is really difficult to control hands on driving.
In monsoon when the roads are wet, the film of the water on the asphalt causes loss of traction. This makes the car more prone to skidding and slipping. It also becomes difficult for the driver to see through the glass when heavy rain falls on the front glass of the car. Driver loses its perception and vision. This eventually results in car accidents. Many of such accidents are preventable with safety driving tips and techniques. Driving safety can be enhanced with monsoon driving tips.

If rainfall is too heavy, get out of the car and wait for sometime.
Prevent the car from being crashed by trucks and buses. Maintain a long distance with huge vehicles.
Switch on the air conditioner and defog the window. Don"t allow rain water to fog up.
Be cautious during hydroplaning. Hydroplaning is a condition when a car or vehiclean automobile, truck, bus, or similar motor-driven conveyance loses contact with the road surface. The condition occurs when factors like acceleration, water depth, inflation pressure and tread depth combine together to lose traction control of the tyres. This loss of control can result in car skidding. The best way to prevent skidding in such cases is to keep the tyres inflated and maintain optimum tread depth.
Normally in Indian weather no one gets a chance to see ice and snowfall. But in case if the driver has to run a car in freezing rain or during winter driving on hill stations, it is advisable to carry snow chains and salt. Snow chain will help in pulling the cara road vehicle, usually with four wheels and powered by an internal-combustion engine, designed to carry a small number of passengers on icy roads. Apply salt around the drivecontrol movement of vehicle; travel or convey in vehicle; ride taken in vehicle wheels; this will help to enhance traction control.
